Why robotic palletizing?
Palletizing is the process of stacking and organizing goods to prepare them for handling or transportation. Palletization usually occurs at the end of a production line, but not always. Depalletizing refers to the reverse process of unstacking goods from a pallet configuration.
Traditional palletizing automation machines are inflexible to product changeovers and are often incapable of making mixed-load pallets. Mixed-load, or mixed-SKU pallets, can allow companies greater efficiency in distributing their products, as well as save costs associated with inventory, floor space, and labor.
Robotic palletizing offers greater reliability and versatility in handling mixed-load pallets, product changeover, and dimensional modifications. Portable robotic palletizers can be moved between lines by forklift or pallet jack to match variable line demand.
